○ 본 스튜디오에 입주한 경력이 없는 청주지역 및 국내·외 미술작가
* 우대사항
- 청주시에 현재 2년 이상 계속 거주하고 있는 사람.
- 청주시에 과거 3년 이상 거주하였고, 현재 1년 이상 계속 거주하고 있는 사람
- 그 밖에 지역사회발전(미술 분야)에 기여하였다고 시장이 인정하는 우수한 자는 심사결과에 따라
우선 배정 (청주시 청주시립미술관 운영조례 시행규칙 제8조 청주미술창작스튜디오 운영)

─ 입주제한 및 신청불가 사항
○ 학부 재학 중인 경우
○ 주 40시간 이상 근로계약이 된 소속기관이 있는 경우
○ 초중고 및 대학교 전임교원으로 소속된 경우
○ 청주미술창작스튜디오와 동일한 입주기간에 다른 창작레지던시 입주작가로 선정된 경우
※ 스튜디오 입주 후 상기 위반사실 확인 시 선정 취소 및 퇴실조치 함

2. 창작활동 계획서 1부
* 입주기간 내에 해당되며, 구체적으로 서술
3. 포트폴리오(작품 소개자료) 1부
* 최근 3년 이내의 대표작품을 최대 15페이지로 작성 제출(15페이지 이상 제출 시 임의 삭제함)
* 포트폴리오 형식은 반드시 PPT, PDF 파일 및 용량 50Mb이하로 제출)
* 영상작품의 경우 반드시 AVI파일이어야 하며, 3~5분 이내로 10점 이하 제출
4. 최종 학력(졸업)증명서 1부 (최근 3개월 이내 발급본 제출)
* 스캔하여 첨부 (JPG, PDF 등)
5. 주민등록등본 1부
* 최근 3년간 거주지 변동 사항이 기록되어야 하며, 외국인의 경우 여권 사본 및 외국인 등록증으로 대체

6. 국내·외 전시경력 증빙자료 (최종 합격자에 한하여 추후 제출)
* 개인전 도록 또는 전시 개최 확인서 등
7. 2차 심사방법 및 제출 자료

* 발표 영상 제작은 반드시 AVI파일 및 최대 5분으로 제작
* 외국어로 발표진행 시 반드시 한국어 자막 삽입.
* 발표 영상 제출 기한 및 세부 제작 형식은 1차 합격자 발표 후 해당자 개별 통보

Open Call for Artist-In-Residency
for Cheongju Art Studio


The Cheongju Art Studio is run by the city council of Cheongju, Korea. It is designed to provide an ideal working space with diverse programs for both domestic and international artists. The fundamental purpose of the residency is to encourage the artists personal artistic growth and interaction with the works and ideas of fellow artists.
Through active discussion they will lead their art creativity and motivation in art. The Cheongju Art Studio accepts about 18 artists each year. Each artist is provided with their own studio a bathroom and a small kitchen area. The studio is spacious with a high ceiling. It is designed as a loft where an artist can work and sleep, and is open 24 hours a day.
Each artist will have a solo show with a brochure and promotion. Also artists will participate in several group shows inside and outside of the city. Each year we curate two to three group shows.
We also host an open studio and several artists workshops in which artists give public presentations on their work.

○ Residence Period : Long term a year (May 1, 2021 ~ April 20, 2022)
Short term 6 months (The first half May 1, 2021 ~ 20 October, 2021)
(The second half November 1, 2021 ~ April 20, 2022)
○ Operating hours : open 24hr
○ Occupancy capacity : 18

○ Residence field : Visual arts such as plane, three-dimensional, photography, video, installation art and etc;.
○ Fee : Free (But the artist shall pay for electricity, internet and other supplies)​


+ Registration
─ Notice Period : October 30, 2020 (Fri) ~ November 16 (Mon)
─ Qualification for application
○ Cheongju and both internal and external artists without the experience of moving into this studio
* Preferences
- A person currently living in Cheongju-si for more than 2 years.
- A person who has lived in Cheongju-si for more than 3 years in the past, and still living in for
more than a year.
- A person who is recognized by a mayor to have contributed in the local community
development(art) will be allocated preferentially

─ Restrictions on occupancy and unable to apply details
○ When in attendance at an undergraduate student
○ When have a belonging organization with a working contract more than 40 hours a week
○ When belong to a faculty in full service of elementary, middle, high school and university
○ When selected as an artist in residence of other artist residence with the same period in the Cheongju Art Studio
※ When confirmed to have violated above statements after moving into studio, a selection is revoked
and will take check out measures.

Click ‘Online residence application’ - ‘Residence application’ > Click ‘2021-2022 Cheongju Art Studio 15th artist in residence recruitment' > Apply > Input ‘Personal information’(Including profile photo) and attach application documents (Must zip files and upload a file) > Click ‘Registration’ > Application completed

* If revising residence application after first registering (can revise in ‘Log-in > My page > My residence application')
* Cannot apply by mail or visit

○ Submitting documents and files 6 in total (Every residence application, submitting documents
should be written in Korean in principle)
1. A copy of residence application (Include a self-introduction / artist note/ artist record)
2. A copy of creation work plan
* Among the residence period, write concretely
3. A copy of Portfolio (artwork introduction)
* The representative work of recent 3 years, 15 pages at maximum (when submit more than 15
pages, it would be deleted arbitrarily)
* The portfolio format must be PPT, PDF files and file size should be same or less than 50mb
* If the piece is a video, it must be AVI file, 3~5min, submit same or less than 10 pieces
4. The copy of final academic background(graduation) certificate (submit a certificate issued less
than recent 3 months)
* Attach after scanning (JPG, PDF and etc;)
5. A copy of resident registration certificate
* Should record a change of residence of recent 3 years, and when the artist is a foreigner,
substitute into a copy of a passport or a certificate of alien registration

6. Evidential material of internal or external exhibition record
(Submit later, just for final successful applicants)
* Private exhibition art brochure or confirmation of exhibition opening
7. Second examination method and submitting documents
* Just in case of the successful applicants of the first examination, proceed non face-to-face
examination, using artwork presentation video
* Presentation video must be in AVI format and maximum 5 minutes
* When presenting foreign language, must put in Korean subtitles.
* Presentation video submission deadline and detailed producing format should be individually
informed to the relevant people after announcing accepted people

※ Every submitting documents should be zipped into a file and submitted

+ Selection examination
─ Examination date
○ The first document examination : December 2, 2020 (expected)
○ The second video examination : December 22, 2020 (expected)
─ Examination result announcement
○ The first portfolio examination announcement : December 8, 2020 (expected)
○ The announcement of final resident : December 29, 2020 (expected)
─ Examination method : Artist in resident selection examination committee decides on deliberation
─ Examination result announcing method : Post on the home page and inform individually
* Application documents will not be returned.
* The one who didn't take place in artist in residence orientation and contract application will be considered to have declined moving in.
* When the details of written documents are different from the truth, the selection is revoked.
