The 14 artists selected for the 18^th season of the CJAS artist residency program for 2024-2025 are Kang Jaeyoung, Gu Yunji, Kim Minhye, Kim Yongseon, Kim Hyeonmuk, Min Yeeun, Seo Yeonjin, Yang Junguk, Oh Seungeon, Yu Sujin, Lee Yunbin, Lee Eunu, Lim Minsu, and Im Jaehyoung. They went through an open call for the artist residency program announced in 2023, were selected through the evaluation process led by experts, and moved into the residence in March of this year.  

 

The exhibition The 18^th Move-in Report announces the beginning of the 18^th edition of the artist-in-residency program at Cheongju Art Studio (CJAS), introducing the new artists who just moved into the residency space of CJAS. It is the very first entrance report exhibition of these artists who have left the place where their previous works were based and are now presenting their work in this new environment. On this occasion, the paintings, videos, and installations that reveal the previous history of their hard work according to their individual experiences will invite us to appreciate the artistic thoughts of these new CJAS resident artists.

 

CJAS has been establishing a system to help resident artists effectively enhance their competence through a wide range of related programs, including support for various creative activities. More plans are on the way to extend possibilities regarding the residency program by arranging opportunities for communication with professionals of the local community and art scene and securing a foundation for sustainable collaboration in the future. This move-in report exhibition will showcase the first step towards lasting harmony between CJAS and its 18^th-term resident artists.
