Exhibition Overview

Once again, I wash my face to wash away the shame of the day.

I stand in front of the white canvas in my studio and, out of habit, leave these unknown situations behind me as I walk to work, my footsteps laced with regret.

We all live our lives in our own way, with our core values deep in our hearts. We talk to ourselves in the mirror, we meet people, we are influenced by them, and we are both hurt and inspired by those whose lives are similar or different from our own. I would like to say that the act of creating myself through intended and unintended appearances, while keeping my eyes on the personal narrative that unfolds in the privacy of a universal, ordinary life, is a confrontational self-portrait.

It's been 10 years since I've been living a balanced life between work and life. The reality that I had to accept inevitably, maybe I needed a different way, but it seeped in naturally and became familiar like inertia, and now I felt the limit and festered. In the moments when work and life organically intersect, and in the situations that I have to face, I hold on to the will to fulfill my work and survive, and I paint with my first brush.

The conflicts and frictions of this realistic environment, coupled with the constraints of physical time, became a turning point in my work that I could not resist, and all of these situations in my experience became an opportunity to look at myself from the perspective of multilayered reality. The change of perspective and the inherent unconsciousness underlying the various layers of layers are rather put on the canvas as an inevitable mass of materiality.

My struggle to escape from my own obsessions, which are not my own obsessions, while being tangled up in the flow of life, is placed on the knife as if it were my flesh, bearing the accompanying pain, and transplanted to another canvas, and the traces are duplicated and transformed to face me in another expanded ideal world.
